Summer slow down

3 July 2010. Summer is here and the StateCareAndMore.eu is slowing down, at least in terms of news and updates.

Until October, we will be updating the e-journal and sending out updates less regularly. In the meantime, we intend to reflect on the past year and evaluate our performance, with a view to improving the e-journal and providing a better service in future. Suspension of student illegal but not breaching FHR (UK Supreme Court)

23 June 2010, UK. The Supreme Court held that a school principal had no ‘common law power’ to suspend a pupil from school, but could only do so in accordance with the regulations that deal with the suspension and expulsion of pupils.

24 June 2010, Strasbourg (Ref. Applic No. 30141/04). The European Court of Human Rights ruled that article 12 of the Convention did not impose an obligation on States to grant same-sex couples access to marriage.

A brief explanation
